The street is bleeding... Be safe

Image
The street is getting bloodier by the day, please be safe out there. (Photo credit: Google) Dear reader, if you live in Nigeria, any part of Nigeria for that matter, please know this and know peace – your safety is 100% on you, you can’t be too careful. A friend called me yesterday to share a new robbery style with me. He was fast asleep at about 1am around Egbeda area of Lagos. He heard the sound of a baby; the noise became so loud that everyone could hear it from distance and he was baffled. It was right in front of his building, his fence is low with railing barricade so he could see what was going on outside. He peeped through his curtains and he could see some movement; each time the baby stops crying, someone triggers the cry again and the baby obliged. After two hours of that episode, the person carried the baby and left the environment. I read something similar from all those recycled WhatsApp broadcasts recently but this happened to a friend just yesterday morning. App

I found some good in a certain evil...

Image
If you look to the brighter side, you'll find out that there's good in evil. (Photo credit: Pinterest) I once wrote about the good in evil, and I wondered if it’s fair to have evil in good. I know my head was “ turningoninown ” the day I wrote that but I’ve found one good in a certain evil… Remember there was nothing like “can I work from home” before the advent of Covid? The virus hit us hard and somehow, employers found ways to understand that there’s value in remote work, is that a viable example of good in evil? I’m sure covid was evil, I experienced it when it had value and I can tell you for free that it’s nothing good but again, did it come to destroy a certain law that doesn’t exist in the constitution but somehow takes it course around the working environment? Now, employers willfully ask employees to work from home, employers now play down the frowns when employees ask for sick leave and from experience, employees function better from their closet; no cranky f

Champions League final: Lessons from Real Madrid

Image
This guy made the night for Real Madrid, he was their weapon as they managed everything Liverpool threw at them, I learned from it. (Photo credit: Sky Sports) Real Madrid taught me a lesson last night and I think I should talk about it. First I’d love to congratulate them on winning the champions league, it’s a great feat and they more than deserved the great feeling they’re currently enjoying. Hala Madrid! I saw many of their games, they were a nuisance in the group stages of the champions league; I think Real Madrid lost to one college team from Albania or so, I need to check but their name is Sherrif Tiraspol, who would have thought? Ruining tickets for boys on that occasion. If you know anything about Real Madrid, they’re a different animal in the knockout rounds and that tells me something key about life. What is the essence of expending all the energy early only to gas-out early and then begin to manage the rest of whatever situation you’re in? Okay, this is quite tricky

Adulthood is a scam... I'm not doing again

Image
Adulthood is a scam, please show me the button to press to unsubscribe and I'll thank you for life. (Photo credit: Sonia's WhatsApp status) When I was seven, I was desperate to be ten. It felt like there was something about the age; my tenth birthday was somewhat lit, there was a nationwide strike and seeing my dad at home during the week like that was special, mom was heavy with the twins then I think… Yeah. Yesterday was Children’s Day, nostalgia set in as my teammates kept banting about caprisonne and gifts; there was a time I was always excited about Children’s Day but with eagerness to outgrow the age and start earning, maybe get married and become the picture I had in my head, adulthood had other ideas. It has been established that you don’t even have to go out before you spend money. “savings or current” can meet you even in your closet; once you open your eyes to see the beauty of a new dawn, you’re already indebted and you must pay, no one told me about that part

Dele Momodu sent to the reserves by Captain Wike...

Image
Governor Nyesom Wike destroyed Dele Momodu in an interview on Thursday, is there any comeback move for Davido's boy? (Photo credit: Google) In the midst of the fast and furious work pressure, I caught wind of the comedy show going on within the Nigerian political scene, omo! This has to be the most interesting time even to learn about Nigerian politics. Did you hear about Peter Obi’s resignation from PDP? I’m hearing the former PDP hopeful has joined Labor party on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee; the transfer window is in full swing in the Nigerian politics league, I’ll be your Fabrizio Romano. Rumor has it that former Niger-Delta super star, Goodluck Jonathan has secretly signed for APC; the first attempt failed at the medical level with many people reporting that the form he claimed was bought for him by some Fulani folks wasn’t entirely true. It’s crazy how this man that a lot of Nigerians nurse sympathy for, managed to ruin his own stock by flirting with APC.

Dear reader, thank you

Image
I can't thank you all enough. Thank you. (Photo credit: Google) Hello folks, thanks for always coming to read my posts even when I don’t really engage with some articles. The idea is not only to fulfill the 365 days journey but also to pass salient messages while engaging your reading pleasure. I’m doing “vote of thanks” today because I’m busier than third mainland bridge and will not be able to post a long article; but it means so much to me that some of you legit reach out to me when it’s almost evening and I haven’t sent the link to a post for the day. It’s also great to know that many of you don’t have problems getting links on a daily basis. This, I know for sure can be annoying but I don’t get complains, some even get angry when they find out I have a reading list and I didn’t add them, I’m really grateful. Work? It’s hectic AF but I’m not complaining. What am I working on? A major reality TV show is coming and I’m heavy on content. It sits with me and I have to do my

Love is cheaper...

Image
It costs less to smile and show some love, try it and you will see that the Lord is good. (Photo credit: Google) People are going through a lot, the least you can do is to plant smiles on people’s faces and not make their bad situation worse; most times, it’s not as hard as we make “being nice” seem, all we need to do is to try, trust me it won’t hurt. There’s so much value in appreciating what someone does. I know someone will say “I can’t lie to you if your job is not good enough”, I am convinced that there’s always something to appreciate about something, if not for the color, it would be for the fragrance or the size, look for the silver lining, not the dark clouds. People are trying, you just don’t see it. That vulcanizer that you call dirty, that bike man that now needs to learn another hustle or dare law enforcement agents on the highway after the ban; the NEPA official you curse because he’s doing his job or the bus conductor that you judged because think you’re better of

Do people still fall for this kinda fraud?

Image
I got this text yesterday and I was wondering if there's a way I could send thunder to the illiterate that sent it to me. Do you get nonsenses like this? (Photo credit: My inbox) I understand the economy is hard, I know everyone is trying live above the rising costs of basic things but when will some stupid internet fraudsters stop all these foolish messages they send about FG funds or Covid survival grants? To be very honest, it can be hilarious sometimes and one would even be tempted to call the number just for laughs but it is now annoying and I just wish our phones come with thunder button so I can just fire any idiot that sends such to me ever again. I want to believe some people still fall for such, but it will take an epic level of illiteracy and greed for anyone to fall into such ditch. What government will send you text with MTN number and then ask you to call another line, possibly Glo? Na ment? I’ve heard cases of people getting their accounts wiped after clickin

Happy birthday daddy, sleep on my Gee

Image
I miss you daddy, I hope this gets to you. If it does, say a prayer for me and give me the strength to continue living without your physical presence. (Photo credit: Google) Dear Daddy, I felt you around last night, it felt different from the last time. I guess you were proud of how I handled things recently, I know you looked forward to reading from me all along but bro, it was difficult. I cried like a baby, I enjoyed it because no one was there to interrupt my grief. No one will ever understand what the hole you left means to me, I'm still hurting and I won't pretend like it's fine. My fingers are quaking as I type this but daddy... I will be fine. It’s your birthday today and I honestly don’t know how it works at your end. Do they share cakes or mocktails? Or does the act of Jesus at that famous wedding apply? I mean do they allow wines and red cups? I won’t be surprised if the trumpet thing happened, you really don’t like noise, I hope the stubborn Angel Michael

The crash of crypto and my friends' state of mind

Image
Crypto is not for the weak, I won't teach you how to spend your money or where to save your money, but be of good courage when the wind blows. Oluwa a wa pelu e o. (Photo credit: Google)   A few of my friends are having the most difficult period of their respective lives and that is essentially down to their involvements in the famous crypto business. All but one of them have major hustles, crypto is a means of investment and side hustles to them but I’ve had to constantly check on them of late. Just so we’re clear, I don’t know anything significant about crypto; beginner? Maybe and that’s because I enjoy reading up on lots of things. Some gig I got involved in recently also made me write about trading bots and that remains a major contributor to my crypto knowledge.   However, not too long ago, a friend that had been on my neck for a while reached out and insisted I invested in crypto, she told me about an app called Binance and I wasn’t really interested in her energy, I gave

if you download Ayinla from cheap websites, God will punish you

Image
Some  people deserve to be jailed. If you ever download a movie that is in the cinema or on Netflix, you're a pirate and you're ruining someone's investment. God will punish you. (Photo credit: Google) A friend called me earlier today to give me his reviews of Ayinla, the movie, and I was excited and open to his personal opinion of the flick. I listened patiently to his rant as he complained about the audio quality and the fact that the picture quality was poor; he ended the call by telling me he downloaded the movie from a website… I was in a good mood, so I was a little soft on him; of course, I reminded him that he was a fool and his ticket would spoil this weekend, but I didn’t go beyond that. This dude downloaded a movie on Netflix, and he’s complaining about audio and video quality… He is mad, I told him, by the way. Many of us do this nonsense. Ayinla toured the cinema for over a year, and you didn’t go to see it; Ayinla is now on Netflix; you can’t beg someone to

Kabiesi's birthday, Ayinla on netflix and other stories

Image
Happy birthday Oba J.O Awolola, stay kinging my Gee. (Photo credit: Charles Adewale Awolola) The weekend is here, and I’m excited for my babies, that is taking a big step towards eternal happiness, and for myself, because I need rest; although I’d only be taking Sunday for myself, that would be the only free day I’d be having in the last one month so allow me to spend the day how I want it. So my girls are having their registry wedding tomorrow, and although I won’t be there, they can rent B.J as their father for tomorrow; I’ll happily resume duties afterward. I’m pleased for them and wish them skin-deep happiness in their respective choices. Ayinla is now on Netflix, and I’m waiting for reviews. If you’re seeing it for the first time, kindly look out for the story, the props, costumes, use of language, role plays, and of course, the place of Alhaji himself – Adedimeji Lateef. I’ll be waiting. Today is the birthday of one guy that’s a father to me. His children have a way of making h

I can't help Sharon, y'all didn't too

Image
Why does this case seem so hard when it's just a matter of someone walking away if she can't deal? (Photo credit: Google) Many people had something to say about Sharon and Ibrahim, and I am not surprised at the kinds of comments I got from certain quarters. To be very honest, most of the comments that came into my DM were valid, and I have decided to do the unusual, do a follow-up post just a day after the original post. I typically like to keep you people waiting, but this one is “ peppering ” my body, so I’ll just do it. So, many of you (especially ladies) think Ibrahim is criminal and unfair to make Sharon do something to make the marriage work. Only men are supposed to bend to fit into what women want. I get it. Some asked: “what if Sharon gets pregnant and Ibrahim’s people still don’t accept her?”, very valid concerns, but you need to know that the guy knows what he is doing, and, while I might be wrong, I sincerely don’t think Ibrahim will bail on Sharon, he’s so much int

I can't help Sharon, can you?

Image
I tried to be nice with this article to be very honest but does Sharon actually need help or she's just a confused woman? (Photo credit: Google) When I saw Sharon’s call on Sunday, I knew something serious was happening. She’s the type that will not call except the roof is burning; Sharon will tell you to only text except someone is dying; I always wonder how she copes as a relationship manager at Stanbic… She permitted me to write about her, and she also wouldn’t mind your two cents. Sharon is 30, well-to-do and bubbly. She’s got a balanced life; she’s the life of the party when outside, and can also be that annoying introvert, she works hard, and she’s well compensated for it. She met Ibrahim during NYSC in 2014, and camp affairs gave birth to a relationship of six years because they only started officially in 2016. Everything was going fine regardless of some tiny differences – She’s Igbo, and Ibrahim is Fulani, although he lives and works in Lagos and speaks Yoruba better tha

The boy is ill...

I'm a bit under the weather, nope... it's not Arsenal but I'll be fine. (Photo credit: Google) I’m having this really bad headache; I saw it coming and I can’t even complain. I am going through a lot; you people should take my account number and send me money. The past few days haven’t been particularly kind to me, I know many of you will say “after he went to flex”, I’m only going to ask the Father to forgive you all because you all don’t know what you’re doing. I will not be like you people. My fingers are sore as I type this but man’s gotta keep going. Lower back hurts like what I don’t know and it is not me that will go to Igbobi. I couldn’t sleep all night, getting used to solitude also comes at a price but again, man’s gotta live with what he can’t change. And then the part some of you want me to talk about… Arsenal ruined the script, they flattered to deceive and eventually crashed all the hopes, I am available for drags, it’s the path I willingly chose, I wi

For the 99th time in my life time, I burnt my lunch

Image
I know many of you will like to read the full gist, I have decided to starve you of it and you can't do anything to me. I will be better and y'all will be proud of my cooking skills. (Photo credit: Google of course) You know that day you vow to do everything possible, clear your desk and ensure you finish everything in record time, and you end up doing almost nothing? That day is today for me and, while I’m not proud of it, I don’t think it’s in any way my making. I woke up slightly late, had a long night and anxiety of a particular call saw me thinking about so many things even during NLP, I’m sure Dara would be wondering why the prayers were so loud while he was on the phone with me, NLP starts by 6:30am and ends before 8am, that should tell you when work started for me today. The fire we were trying to kill over the weekend was still raging, it is out now and I don’t know if the debris would be left for me to park, well I’ve been shown where the parker and waste basket

AMVCA is done but the hustle continues...

Image
One of our sets for Amstel at the AMVCA finale on Saturday. (Photo credit: Ramsey's iPhone) Hello everyone, finally awake after a night of fun, glitz and glamour at the just concluded Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. It was exciting to see the light come up on some of our works, attendees brimming with smiles while taking pictures at our sets… It was fascinating to see. The energy isn’t there to share background stories or run my own commentary on the award, the categories and the drama that happened at the event, I will definitely do so soon but not today, especially the part where Deyemi Okanlawon was heading for the stage to attack IK Osakoduwa… LOL. There’s so much to talk about from the event, I hope you are patient enough to wait for me to put my thoughts together on it but trust me, anytime it is, it will be a good read. Of course, I’ll be happy to drag a few people, it’s part of the script, right? My intestines are crying as I type this, that’s the voice of hung

What is peaceful about a religion that supports murder for blasphemy?

Image
Religious fanaticism is a menace across the world but the latest of such barbaric act happened in Sokoto and it must not go without the perpetrators paying for their madness. (Photo credit: Google) It is not the first time that people have been killed by northern religious fanatics all in the name of blasphemy and, you wonder why humans need to fight for God. It is disheartening and disturbing but you know what is worse? No one will pay for it. Atiku Abubakar jumped on the issue and rightly condemned the indiscretions of the bastards that committed the murder, he was threatened with his political ambition (something he won’t achieve anyway) and he quickly deleted the tweet, that was a suicide move. I wrote about him and a few others recently, I was never going to vote for him and now I have more reasons never to choose a coward, a man who had the chance to put something right, he caved in to such religious dungeon, he should never rise again. While Atiku Abubakar is just one ma

Latifah dragged me with my pressure ball

Image
Ignore the "dada" by the corner and focus on the woman with the pressure ball. I am stressed, hug me when you see me. (Photo credit: Rambo's iPhone) I love my job; it comes with lots of pressure and responsibilities. Working with people who are “ proud to be mad ” and leading a team of intelligent conceptualizers gives me joy but today can be called one of those days… Last night didn’t go according to plan but that’s entirely on the center referee, I won’t be talking about that; it gave birth to a weird morning but walking into the office took all the ill-feeling away, while half of the team remains in the field for AMVCA, the ones on the ground served me the required catalyst I needed. Sandra gave me a pressure ball, she realized I’ve been stressed but Latifah and Ese took it personally, imagine your teammates “ jealousing ” you. Both of them told me I will see stress and guess what? I am seeing stress in full gear. I had to step in to manage a situation and it “

Negativity is the voice of failure... Why entertain it?

Image
Negativity is a self inflicted menace, it holds you back and if you ever think your words matter, then let them be positive. (Photo credit: Ebuka's WhatsApp status) When people say “hope for the best but prepare for the worst”, I find it hard to comprehend it and I strongly think it is a fraudulent submission to either underperform or encourage hopelessness depending on the context. I understand the part where some are “half empty” and others are “half full” but what sense is there in putting in fine work and then coming out and saying something negative about it just because you want to be humble or because you don’t want to be disappointed when people say it’s not nice? Let me give an instance to make this clear: you attended an interview, you did well in your own eyes but when you’re asked, you say I’m hoping for the best but prepared for the worst, guy, I promise you, you will see the worst, let’s bet it. Some will say “I don’t want to jinx it”, what jinxes things bette

Buga: Flaunt your success

Image
This is my song of the moment and it tells me lots of things about owning my own success. I will celebrate it and flaunt it to your faces, deal with it. Maintain same energy too. (Photo credit: Tekno) Kizz Daniel’s Buga is living rent-free in my head and I’m not complaining. The rhythm of the song and the quality of the guy’s delivery speaks of class, I don’t stan nonsense. Unfortunately, there’s a limit to how I can explore that song; my guy is saying “whatever happens, show off, flaunt it… Do shakara” but we live in a world where you can’t even post fine pictures without someone saying you’re proud… You can’t be grateful for a new achievement without someone saying you’re showing off, it is their own witchcraft trust me but you have to be careful too, err… Scratch that, abeg show off. Flaunt your achievement, you labored for it yeah? Then enjoy it! You just got a new car? Post it and insert a deep quote. Your baby just arrived? Serve us fresh JPEGs and send us your house addr

Overthinking no dey solve problems...

Image
I am saying this to you and you have to take it, stop worrying and go get a drink, dance to good music and call that person that makes you happy. Overthinking no dey solve problems my people. (Photo credit: Google) One of my very good friends called me earlier today to rant, she thinks the world is crashing at her feet and she was indeed losing it. I was in the right place so I was able to listen but, in the end, I was able to make her smile, of course by reminding her of how she used to run after a certain celebrity that year… LOL. I know people react to things differently but if we try our best to worry less and look away from the size of what we’re dealing with, we’d see solutions right before our noses. I am convinced that God will never give us a challenge we can’t defeat, He loves us that much. I won’t be able to go into details but after we spoke for half an hour, she understood that she wasn’t the only one in that particular boat and hers is even better, I placed a call t

I have a testimony...

Image
Connect to Next Level Prayers tomorrow morning on IG, Facebook or Mixlr by 6:30am. Thank me later. (Photo credit: Google) This is a testimony, I am not afraid to share even though I know the village people can vex, I serve a living God I am not afraid of any village people… I said what I said. I wrote about my sleep issues and I must appreciate everyone that offered some help, some went as far as making me concoctions, someone sent me a drink from Lokoja, lots of people prescribed many options, I don’t take the love for granted, thank you. My sleep pattern is a lot better, not there yet but I now sleep for at least four hours; this might sound ludicrous but believe me, it’s a testimony from where I’m coming from. I don’t intend to make this a long one but I want everyone of you that tried to help know that you are the best thing to happen to me since the turn of the year. I figured I sleep better when I don’t sleep in my house, my therapist said that could be a mental block aga

2023 Presidential Election: APC just dey disguise

Image
You think these lots are at loggerheads? I don't think so but a good number of the guys in this picture have purchased the 100m form. Bloody comedians. (Photo credit: Naija Pundits) After I saw the pictures of the APC galacticos at their party convention few days ago, I knew these lots were whining us all these while; they know what they’re doing and we should not fall for it. I wrote about the folks I’m never wasting my vote on, this is a sequel to that post. This is about the ongoing drama in the APC party and my conviction that it is all a game to confuse everyone and deflect attention from their main candidate. I will throw my two hands in the air and accept defeat if it comes out to be the other way round but I don’t think Tinubu wants to run for presidency. I can understand he has spent so much money and his followers are hell bent on imposing him on us but I don’t think that nigga wants to run. Then the issue of 100m for declaration of interest form, isn’t it a joke

AMVCA 2022: My heart was broken when I saw the nominations

Image
I am disappointed that Ayinla didn't get nominated in any category for AMVCA but we live to fight another day, (Photo credit: My photo gallery) I haven’t said anything about the AMVCA nominations since it was released and you won’t be wrong if you thought I was heartbroken, yes I was and I haven’t recovered from the shock but I’ve found solace in the fact that I’ll be seeing my ideas play out at the event, fair enough. Err… Do you need me to explain that? Well, Desperados, Tiger Beer, Lush Hair and Amstel Malta – the headline sponsors are brands my agency work with, hence we’ll be activating the event from start to finish. Back to the point, I was shell shocked that Adedimeji Lateef didn’t get a single nomination for the monstrous 2021 he had and that Ayinla didn’t get a single nomination as well; I couldn’t understand why and for two days, I was dazed like I hit my head on the wall but again… It is what it is. Why would I think Ayinla should be nominated? The story was imp

AMVCA 2022 is here... Shall we?

Image
The AMVCA is upon us, it's an eight-day event and I'll be busy activating with brands. I can't wait. (Photo credit: AMVCA) Hello folks, thanks for always reading my posts. I have been feeding you all scraps for a few days now; I know you’re expecting me to say, “there will always be days like that,” taa! You lie, okay, you didn’t cos I have to say that again… Sorry, okay? The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is upon us, it is an eight-day event this year, and I will be working on the showpiece; I’m excited about it but not for the stress that will come with it. I am not complaining, by the way, just saying. Tomorrow’s first day is the opening day, and it is happening at the luxurious Monarch event center, Lekki. It will be sensational with Amstel, Lush, and Moet fighting for attention, you know where my loyalty lies? Amstel and Nigerian Breweries… Day two is for fashion, happening at the Balmoral convention center, Monday is for the Multichoice Talent Factory; I

Pastor Tunde Bakare has bought nomination form

Image
Pastor Tunde Bakare has obtained the 100m APC nomination form. Interesting right? (Photo credit: Google) It’s quarter past 5 pm, and I haven’t written anything for today; I’m glad you all know there will be days I’ll just come in here, wave, and run along; you have to take me like that sometimes, thank you very much. Yo! So, I heard Pastor Tunde Bakare had bought the presidential nomination form… Omo! The race is getting interesting but isn’t it getting to a point where aspirants are becoming too much? We are probably going to have more aspirants than voters at this rate. I started a series of folks I will never vote for, I named my guy Dele Momodu already, but a certain drama followed that post; I’m laughing as it crossed my mind just now; the dude asked one of his boys to write me LMAO, Mr. President is angry… I’m hearing Lagos State APC will not field Governor Sanwo-Olu, and the reason is not because of EndSARS, it is not because of the issues surrounding NURTW and all, but

Atalanta broke Ope Cole's heart on a cold Monday

Stay away from sports betting, Oluwa a wa pelu e o. (Photo credit: Google) I have not seen “Namaste Wahala,” and I might never bother; according to Dipo Ogun, “It’s a complete waste of precious time; I don’t take spoilers, to be honest, but I’ll accept this one, and not bother to watch the movie. We met to record the latest episodes of the Music, Movies, and Sports podcast; it was fun with the guys as always, oh! Deo Banks is back on the cast list after his hiatus, and trust him and Ope Cole to go through their moments of frustrating bromance… We’re used to them now, so we move. This post isn’t actually about any of what I’ve said so far; I’ll write about movies I always wanted to see that I haven’t some other time, but today is about something that happened to Ope Cole, if it happened to me, I might faint three times before daybreak. Yo! I wrote about sports betting and how it should be avoided sometime ago, right? Ope Cole had a running ticket, and his final two games to win

My laptop gave up on me at a fucking wrong time

Image
This is me saying a big happy birthday to Debo Macaroni, this article isn't about him but we'll meet soon at the table of men. (Photo credit: Rambo's iPhone) When I realized today would be Mr. Macaroni’s birthday, I thought of many things to write about him but I won’t be doing that. Since I started this journey, trust me, I’ve never really had a topic until I was ready to write, I guess that has kept me in the journey because e no easy. I woke up with a lot on my to-do list – work deliverables, hustles here and there and the will to live regardless; I guess the ability to balance hectic work Schedules and life has been the reason I’ve managed to stay sane but a few things happened earlier that ruined the script. My laptop crashed, that’s the summary but it happened at a very fucking wrong time. Shade is blowing up my phone because she wants her deck, Tolu has called me more than anyone else in the past few days, he knows I’m not gay so no issues but I gotta come thro
