For Rambo, it's a year of big decision

Image
Welcome to 2026, I hope it brings us all the best of our heart desires.  That familiar January gragra is in the air; the motivational quotes, the fake discipline, the spiritual enthusiasm that expires by Week Two. But relax, I’m not here to make promises. Not even to myself. I won’t be here as consistently as I should, but I also don’t plan on washing my dirty boxers this year, so by default, I’ll be here more than I was last year. Progress is progress. Let me speak in the language of the streets: “Last year was a rollercoaster.” LOL. Nonsense and Manchester City. Every year is a rollercoaster for you people, as if life ever promised to be a straight road. Even Dangote once burst into tears when Tinubu pressed his neck, so please, who are you again? Welcome to 2026. We will have fun. It will speak better things for me. I will break boundaries, test new waters, and challenge myself more. I will read more books, visit new places, and buy myself a gift every month, because nobody ...

2025... The good, the bad and things you won't understand

Image
Probably my favorite picture of the year; genuine smiles, pure happiness and hope for a bigger and more rewarding 2026. (Photo credit: Seyi Lantern) It’s been a minute since I showed up here. A long one. And what a year it’s been; dramatic, chaotic, occasionally graceful, and stubbornly human. The kind of year that hands you joy with one hand and says “manage this nonsense” with the other. Plenty of good, fair portions of bad, and yes, the occasional ugly cameo, because life doesn’t do edited versions. Last night, while recording a podcast with IBK and AY of Ontario, a question surfaced — what were our most iconic sporting moments of the year? Innocent question. Dangerous consequences. Because it immediately shape-shifted into something deeper: what were my own iconic moments of 2025? And just like that, my mind took off without filing a flight plan. Quick disclaimer for first-timers: read me for vibes, not structure. If you’re trying to connect dots, you’ll need a compass, a trans...

Who is after my life?

Image
Show me a cuter 10-year-old. Happy birthday once again my pretty little niece. God bless you and to you reading this, don't stress me with nonsense questions. Love and plenty lights. (Photo credit: Adeyemi Omo Oba) The world doesn’t stop when you lose your loved ones. I learnt this the hard way, and like we have come to understand, it is what it is. I haven’t been here in a long while; to be honest, there’s been no time for me to spare. However, I have a lot on my chest to whisper into the thin air, hoping I either feel better or get reasonable answers. I am also talking to myself here while trying to pass sane messages to deaf ears. Oh well, maybe not. It’s tough to even know where to start from. It was my birthday the other day, and seeing today is the 16th of my favorite month, I wonder where time is running to. Looks like someone we don’t see is tampering with the fangs of time. Why the rush? It was just the first of the month three hours ago; how is today the 16th? Speaking of...

We go again!

Image
This new year, do you, be more and most importantly, "no gree for failure". Happy New Year from me and my dirty boxers to you and yours. (Photo credit: Google) Hello everyone, it’s my first post in this space this year, and I promise it won’t be the last. I delivered next to nothing here last year on purpose, to be honest, but I’ll do better this year. I wrote a lot last year, more commercial than for personal pleasure. Besides, it was a hell of an emotional year, and I didn’t want to bring my troubles here. I wrote a couple of things at the tail end of the year that I never posted here. LOL, you should read some of them. Okay! We go again in a bit. The holiday is over, and I can’t exactly say I was on holiday because I worked throughout. It is what it is, and we’re happy to do so while we can. I was away, I traveled, and I was happy I touched Ibadan. It was the hardest part of my holiday, as I had to stare at my parents without saying a word. It’s a new year with renewed ...

Meet Milan, my brave champ!

Image
Meet Milan, the brave boy that keeps winning! (Photo credit: His mom's WhatsApp status) I knew at some points I’d have to bring this back. I certainly can’t survive without writing but it’s been a topsy turvy year. I am grateful because it’s better than I feared on all fronts, but health can be better and mom can be healthier too; again, I am grateful. I was going to restart on mom’s birthday but that’s not how to reward her for all the panic attacks she gave me, then I considered Valentine’s Day, oh… that was even few days before Mamma’s birthday but the drama that happened at my office would make the post end up getting me dragged. What better way is there to bring back my dirty boxers if not for someone I desperately cherish and it’s strange how I might never get the relationship I want from him at least until he’s 18 and gets to decide for himself. I also have to be clear with this because I have people that know how to read something and interpret rubbish. His name is ...

I don't like how I feel...

Image
I don't know what it is but it's easy to heap it on Liverpool... I'll be fine. (Photo credit: Google) How do you deal with anxiety? Especially the ones that come with loneliness. On a day the weather is bleeding with reckless abandon and the body is shedding some liquids, how do you explain this kind of feeling on a peaceful Sunday afternoon? I can understand for the visit of Liverpool to the Emirates; in a way, I am not particularly afraid of the Kops, we’ve been better this season but it’s a test for everything Arsenal stands for right now and a loss could derail the boys… We stay hoping for the best. Tomorrow is my dad’s remembrance and I bet that has absolutely nothing to do with how I have been feeling of late; Damola said it’s because my kid brother left town and I’m missing him LMAO. Not impossible by the way but I’m not sure that is it. I know a few people would think it’s their fav LOL again, I’m over that even if it’s not exactly easy. The part where I hav...

One day in no man's land...

Image
It's one of those days you're willing to lose home training but dear Arsenal... Don't let me down today. (Photo credit: Google) Today is one of those days I won’t be dropping too much because I have a loaded day and I only have about five minutes to write something… it is what it is and I hope you won’t be angry with me. The Premier League starts today and one of our brand partners, Betking is hosting KingMakers’ premiership hangout at Wave Beach Elegushi. Hit me up if you want to come through, it starts from 6pm through the night. I hope Arsenal wins. Justin set Deepsea and I up for a podcast which we recorded at the office. It was a fun session even though Deepsea was saying nonsense half the time with his obsession for his finished Chelsea team and Innocent was the man behind the camera, you’d like it. Oh, we had a session earlier where Justin came through with solid presentation; couldn’t have full complement of the team with Basirat and Jason out on health grou...

Have you forgiven Yakubu?

Image
Yakubu missed this chance and things never remained the same. Have you forgiven him? (Photo credit: TheNFF) I love football so much, I have over thirty football jerseys and as you may already know, 90% of them are Arsenal shirts and despite all the vows never to buy again following the champions league miss again, I already initiated contact with my plug (Arsenal Direct and Sean). But football has hurt me more than women and I still find a way to go back to the round leather game. I know many won’t read this article because they’re probably expecting the gist of the Jezebel of Magodo, I will write about her tomorrow, I promise. It was the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, I was a student at Lead City University Ibadan that year and was full of hopes on the Nigerian team simply because I thought we had the team to at least make the quarter finals, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one on that train. We lost the first game to Argentina by a slim margin, even the goal should have been ...

The good, the bad and the ugly...

Image
It was a week of the good, the bad and the damn right ugly but we go again tomorrow!. (Photo credit: Google) The end has come to a week that brought mixed emotions. From dealing with crazy pains to experiencing the joy of winning a mega pitch, the week had everything in it. I count it all joy in the end to be honest. There are lots of things happening around that I would rather not experience but like I once wrote about, there is good in evil and unfortunately, maybe in lesser proportion, there’s evil in some good too. Highlight of the week for me obviously has to be the fact that we won a mega pitch, there’s no stopping us now. We showed grit, we showed character and we brought to fore, that team spirit that matters, but whoever knows Fola of Duo, tell him never to come to mainland. The lowest moment of the week came today, I discovered something I was denying all along LOL. My younger brother brought it to my notice and while I must admit that it is extremely hard to come...

Cheers to the freaking weekend...

Image
Is it a good time to raise some glasses to the freaking weekend? (Photo credit: Ramsey's iPhone) Cheers to the days we never felt like doing jack but we gotta keep it moving, days like this when White Walker and Schweppes virgin mojito handle the rest at the altar of vibes… Hours of multiple tabs on potential transfers, the window is wide open like the legs of the girl on the pole, Arsenal seems to be wide awake; I’m guessing Edu had a nightmare the other night and boom! Arsenal is doing businesses while Ten Hag of Manchester United seems to have hung in the theatre… Didi is flirting with a married man but it’s not my business; Moji is in her element today and whatever Latifah is on about working from the other end of the room needs to be analyzed, she was even hot-stepping the other time… Child of thanksgiving. Cheers to the decks we’re waiting on, feedback is the right lubricant for our engines and we won’t let the guys that bridge the gap rest – no rest for the wicked. I...

I found some good in a certain evil...

Image
If you look to the brighter side, you'll find out that there's good in evil. (Photo credit: Pinterest) I once wrote about the good in evil, and I wondered if it’s fair to have evil in good. I know my head was “ turningoninown ” the day I wrote that but I’ve found one good in a certain evil… Remember there was nothing like “can I work from home” before the advent of Covid? The virus hit us hard and somehow, employers found ways to understand that there’s value in remote work, is that a viable example of good in evil? I’m sure covid was evil, I experienced it when it had value and I can tell you for free that it’s nothing good but again, did it come to destroy a certain law that doesn’t exist in the constitution but somehow takes it course around the working environment? Now, employers willfully ask employees to work from home, employers now play down the frowns when employees ask for sick leave and from experience, employees function better from their closet; no cranky f...

The boy is ill...

Image
I'm a bit under the weather, nope... it's not Arsenal but I'll be fine. (Photo credit: Google) I’m having this really bad headache; I saw it coming and I can’t even complain. I am going through a lot; you people should take my account number and send me money. The past few days haven’t been particularly kind to me, I know many of you will say “after he went to flex”, I’m only going to ask the Father to forgive you all because you all don’t know what you’re doing. I will not be like you people. My fingers are sore as I type this but man’s gotta keep going. Lower back hurts like what I don’t know and it is not me that will go to Igbobi. I couldn’t sleep all night, getting used to solitude also comes at a price but again, man’s gotta live with what he can’t change. And then the part some of you want me to talk about… Arsenal ruined the script, they flattered to deceive and eventually crashed all the hopes, I am available for drags, it’s the path I willingly chose, I wi...

For the 99th time in my life time, I burnt my lunch

Image
I know many of you will like to read the full gist, I have decided to starve you of it and you can't do anything to me. I will be better and y'all will be proud of my cooking skills. (Photo credit: Google of course) You know that day you vow to do everything possible, clear your desk and ensure you finish everything in record time, and you end up doing almost nothing? That day is today for me and, while I’m not proud of it, I don’t think it’s in any way my making. I woke up slightly late, had a long night and anxiety of a particular call saw me thinking about so many things even during NLP, I’m sure Dara would be wondering why the prayers were so loud while he was on the phone with me, NLP starts by 6:30am and ends before 8am, that should tell you when work started for me today. The fire we were trying to kill over the weekend was still raging, it is out now and I don’t know if the debris would be left for me to park, well I’ve been shown where the parker and waste basket...

I'm getting a tattoo when I have a daughter

Image
I'm getting a tattoo when I have a daughter. My mind is made up, I will ink her name on my left arm. (Photo credit: Google) As at the time of penning this, the excitement welling in me cannot be described, and for those that know why, yes, you’re correct, it’s about Arsenal’s win over Manchester United. Today’s article will be the shortest, and it will probably annoy a lot of you as well, especially those that found my article of yesterday offensive because I called out the fraudulent idiots that hide under a religious umbrella to run us streets… Don’t be angry, but I’m not sorry. I have found myself navigating toward many things that I didn’t fancy as a little boy. Not like I’m proud of all of these things, but it is what it is; I didn’t taste alcohol until I was 23 and looking at myself now and the hipflask sitting pretty in front of me… Omo! You, I wear studs now, but that’s not new; however, I couldn’t flaunt it for folks to see way back; I move about with it these days...

Chronicles Adufe and Damola of the Leftist wing

Image
He looks so gentle, but the venom within is just waiting for Josh to post something. The face of Barrister Tauhid Adufe, my friend on the left wing of Arsenal followership. (Photo credit: Adufe) Yesterday was Damola’s birthday and today is Adufe’s birthday, back-to-back felicitations for the people of the left wing. I’ve said so much about the Leftists and for the sake of the first-time readers, I’ll define them as best as I can without letting anyone know how bad they are as humans. We’re all Arsenal fans anyways, but some have decided to be rebels, they don’t see good things in what the manager does and they’d rather arrogate credits to the players when we win and blames to the manager when we don’t, how fair is that? Adufe is their official barrister, one hell of an extremist. If Adufe wasn’t educated, he’d probably be in Sambisa forest, holding guns and whatnot against the members of the Nigerian armed forces, dude is a terrorist and like every Leftist I know, Adufe is a ...

Igbobi nurse wanted to amputate my left ankle

Image
I know this ankle sometimes show me some opposition party vibes but I love it regardless, no one can talk me into losing you, we die here. (Photo credit: Ramsey's iPhone) It was probably the darkest hours of my life, I had some coping mechanisms but all failed at this time, felt like wild animals were haunting me within and it was raining brimstone outside, no one deserved to go through such pains even if you killed like Cain, it was crazy. I’ve had crisis in the past, many I managed well and some that resulted in damages and bruises. I remember tripping and breaking the marble basin at Babanla sometime in 2006, Mama Opa was the only one that understood, many stood there wondering if I wasn’t old enough to know I wasn’t supposed to lean on it… I’ve had falls that drew people, they didn’t know the “sorry’s” hurt more than the fall but I learned to manage that feeling, and then those that offer unsolicited pities especially on a job, making me having to prove myself every damn ...

My friend Ibee and his bloody ass Leftist cult

Image
Best birthday wishes Ibee, in your lifetime and next season to be precise, Mikel Arteta will lead Arsenal to the premier league title. Stay jiggy bro. (Photo credit: Phada) Welcome to April, it is the 91 st day of my 365 days journey and at the time I started, I didn’t think I’d be faithful with this project to date. Three months and counting, I’m proud of myself and I can only take this in my stride and let it propel me to continue. Today I’m taking stocks, I’ll touch base with my friend Ibee, yesterday was his birthday and I’d planned to celebrate him on this blog but I had to share a piece of precious information and the two couldn’t coexist, hence the shift to today… Belated birthday wishes to you Ibee of the bloody-ass Leftist kingdom. It’s been a rollercoaster year for lots of reasons and I can’t even complain. Normal is boring, right? There’s beauty in occasional chaos sometimes but when the rain turns into a hurricane, it might be time to press the panic button, I li...

It was one hell of a week!

Image
It was one hell of a week but I live to tell the story. We go again! (Photo credit: Google) It was one hell of a week but I’m grateful for everything. You can’t pray for the rain and then cry when it turns to hurricane, it was a week of lots of lessons as well as reality checks, it is what it is right? It started with a change behind me, having to get used to Daniel and preparing for the big week that leads to the International Women’s Day with the gang; It’s important to mention the fact that I have a great team around me, it will always get better. Lol, an old friend hit me up with his usual sense of entitlement, glad he met me on a day I was in my feelings. You have to be of great value to expect people to ask you how high when you ask them to jump, know this and know peace. I’m excited about IWD and the great idea we’re executing for a brand. I won’t mention the brand right now even though a few folks already know, look out for human mannequins in your neighborhood with...
