There's someone I like...

This article isn't about my illness alone, you can like to read till the end. (Photo credit: Google) I’m ill, it’s not a surprise and there’s no one around me that would bat an eyelid. The only part of this I don’t like is the timing, Moiste beach tonight with Showmax/TikTok and Magodo with Despe are important events to attend but the son of man cannot can. Dara’s wedding is tomorrow, I must be there even if I have drip hanging on my arms, Kizz Daniel live in concert later tomorrow night is another event I cannot miss. Adekunle Gold’s catch me if you can follows on Sunday… The devil can’t win this battle. What am I writing about today? Certainly not about my illness. There are few interesting developments and I will share three of them. One is extremely heartwarming, or can I say all are interestingly heartwarming? But one of them gives me butterflies. I have found a new worship partner. I wrote about my take on Dunsin Oyekan and a few people came for me LOL but my very goo...

The Jezebel of Magodo - Part 4

The story is not an attempt to glorify crime or violence, but whoever takes pride in stirring the hornet's nest should not guide himself from the attack of the bees... (Photo credit: Google) ...Mercy’s mother died before she could make it to the hospital, an asthmatic old woman in detention with next to nothing care was always going to end in complications. The narrative didn’t need any Nollywood scriptwriter, Karim was labeled the murderer by every ear that cared to listen. On the flipside, Karim was unapologetic and made all sorts of mockery to make the loss of Mercy’s mother worse for the family. One would think Karim was ready to take care of Jubril after wrestling him from Mercy, dude legit returned the boy to the village and word on the street was that his new wife didn’t want the boy around. Kunle stood by Mercy during this time and their way of winning was to destroy everything that Karim was all about. Through the help of Karim’s driver then – who was quite sympathet...

The Igbobi nurse that wanted to amputate my ankle (Part 2)

The smile that follows a very dark hour, like seed... Still I rise. (Photo credit: Ramsey's iPhone) …I looked into the eyes of their motivational speaker, I smiled and looked away. I saw optimism and confidence in his eyes that he has won the battle, he didn’t know I was trying hard to stay civil with him but in the end, I got to realize that not everyone has my kinda positive attitude to life. This is the sequel to the story of Igbobi hospital people trying to amputate my ankle because of my incessant breakdowns, you can’t exactly blame them, even an employer turned his back on me because of same but the confidence of Rambo never goes away so we stay fighting… It was arguably the darkest hour of my life, lots of questions running through my mind but there was something that remained constant, my positive attitude. I was so sure that no matter what happens, I'd still be the best version of myself available, glad I live to tell the story... Iyalaya anybody. In case you mis...

Thoughts of a frustrated man...

There are days we have to live with things we can't change, our attitude through it says a lot about the healing process... (Photo credit: Shutter Stock) There are days like this that you question everything, confidence is low and it feels like the sun is shining elsewhere, then you wonder what happens to the clothes you have on the railings… The weekend wasn’t the best, it was one hell of a lonely one and the pains that rose from waves that didn’t come from the seas made matters worse, I’m well and truly aware that everyday won’t speak your language no matter how many hours you spend on NLP or other prayer platforms, it is what it is… It took a lot of bravery for me to choose to talk about this today. Yes, some level of frustrations fueled it but trust me, we hardly find reasons to talk about our individual challenges, beyond the fact that not everyone cares, we also sometimes feel it’s a general something so just keep yours together… right? I’m a scoliosis patient, well i...
