The Jezebel of Magodo - Part 4

The story is not an attempt to glorify crime or violence, but whoever takes pride in stirring the hornet's nest should not guide himself from the attack of the bees... (Photo credit: Google) |
...Mercy’s mother died before she could make it to the hospital, an asthmatic old woman in detention with next to nothing care was always going to end in complications. The narrative didn’t need any Nollywood scriptwriter, Karim was labeled the murderer by every ear that cared to listen.
On the flipside, Karim was unapologetic and made all sorts
of mockery to make the loss of Mercy’s mother worse for the family. One would
think Karim was ready to take care of Jubril after wrestling him from Mercy, dude
legit returned the boy to the village and word on the street was that his new
wife didn’t want the boy around.
Kunle stood by Mercy during this time and their way of
winning was to destroy everything that Karim was all about. Through the help of
Karim’s driver then – who was quite sympathetic towards Mercy because he knew
the story, Kunle was able to criminally wipe Karim’s account significantly
(dude was a yahoo boy).
The news was quite popular three months later, Mercy killed
Karim, his wife, his younger sister that lived with him then and someone that
was believed to be his wife’s sibling. There were many narratives to how she
did it but none shared any regrets on Mercy’s part.
It was revealed sometime last year that Mercy went to jail
in the US for doing drugs while sending all proceeds to Karim in Nigeria. Also,
Mercy lost her womb to the numerous beatings by Karim and wouldn’t be able to
conceive again of course except she meets NLP…
One side of the story suggested that Mercy got into Karim’s
house in Magodo on face mask as it was during the heights of covid as a
delivery woman for a popular eatery on the axis; it was reported that Kunle ran
the mechanics of how Mercy got into Karim’s house on the night.
Most people that didn’t know the story branded Mercy as the “Jezebel
of Magodo”, she was accused of not only sending her ex-husband bankrupt but
also killing a whole family’s bread winner; wondering why no one asked who
owned the bakery he was winning bread from.
Busy-bodies milked the story till they got tired, Mercy was declared
wanted and her father was re-arrested, nothing pinned the murder to her in all
honesty but like many would say, she threatened fire and brimstone so it was a
no-brainer.
I will never be a party to crime or violence, but why do we
trigger the demons in people and then try to teach them how to react? No be
ment be that?
Finally the end of the story and this part sweet my belle. People can be wicked and heartless
