Who is after my life?

Image
Show me a cuter 10-year-old. Happy birthday once again my pretty little niece. God bless you and to you reading this, don't stress me with nonsense questions. Love and plenty lights. (Photo credit: Adeyemi Omo Oba) The world doesn’t stop when you lose your loved ones. I learnt this the hard way, and like we have come to understand, it is what it is. I haven’t been here in a long while; to be honest, there’s been no time for me to spare. However, I have a lot on my chest to whisper into the thin air, hoping I either feel better or get reasonable answers. I am also talking to myself here while trying to pass sane messages to deaf ears. Oh well, maybe not. It’s tough to even know where to start from. It was my birthday the other day, and seeing today is the 16th of my favorite month, I wonder where time is running to. Looks like someone we don’t see is tampering with the fangs of time. Why the rush? It was just the first of the month three hours ago; how is today the 16th? Speaking of...

The pressure is getting "werser"

Image
Sometimes, you need a time out, play with seashells or pebbles, view azimuth, or talk to someone, whatever you choose to do, come back a better person. (Photo credit: Google) Okay! Someone told me I only come here to rant whenever I want to shade someone LOL, that's arrant nonsense and spices; it’s my safe space, my own personal status, where I can update my feelings with zero respect for how anyone feels. You can stop reading now. There’s nothing to act about here this time; it’s just me trying to burn some mental calories. It’s been a tough season, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to ease up soon. We prayed for days like this; how dare anyone complain? I feel for my teammates; MG is used to the madness; he didn’t get MVP to come crying at demonic workloads; I don’t even care about his feelings, but Eniafe was thrown into the deep, no induction, no breather, straight into the deep ends, swim or sink, but it is what it is. It was a week that tested my resolve. I had to remind...

It's coming home...

Image
Seeth a man diligent in his works, he won't sit with mediocres but with kings... We're balling at the table of men. (Photo credit: NMA) I woke up with huge anxiety for obvious reasons; I had a date at the eye clinic, and I feared the worst already, but two great news soon cleared the air and left me feeling up to it again. Sandra’s text early on helped me feel better and just after my appointment, I got the news that we (Riquesa Africa) have been nominated among industry giants for the Experiential Agency of the year award category of the Nigerian Marketing Awards, did I hear you say, “it’s coming home”? I am not one of those that say awards are for egos, please inject it in my veins because all we do is win. I was going to share another touching story from my eye clinic but that can wait. Right now, I’m only thinking about Sandy Mandy walking that stage to receive the award, we’ll shut down Cubana. I can hear pessimists like Ebere asking “what if we don’t win”, LOL I’m...

Rico's shock death... Valar Moghulis

Image
Rico Swavey's death leaves bitter taste in our mouth but las las, no one will leave here alive. Journey well G. (Photo credit: Alex) Three days ago was the international day for mental health awareness and I was going to write about that today as I couldn’t write about it on the day, it was a difficult day for me as I was in my feelings all day being my dad’s remembrance but, today still won’t be the day… Rico’s death hits home. Valar Moghulis, everyone will die las las and, as I said once in the past on this journey, I hardly feel deep pains when people pass away anymore since my dad left but I can’t seem to comprehend how you see someone today and you’re not sure you won’t be posting the person’s pic tomorrow with RIP caption. This world is fickle AF and I can only wish Rico’s family find a way to deal with this pain. I remember Rico’s days in the BBN house; We couldn’t wait for him to leave the house cos we wanted to work with him on a project, he was a perfect fit and he ...

Is Laycon really worth the hype?

Image
On this day, Dipo Ogun, Ope Cole, Cookie, Phada, Slimee and a few others brought the roof down when Ebuka announced what we already knew but in hindsight, is Laycon really worth the hype? (Photo credit: Multichoice) The Level Up season of Big Brother Naija just ended and I must say it was a crazy journey; for us at Riquesa, it was beyond rollercoaster, especially with the team having to come in every day to come up with new tasks LOL. We’re glad our bit turned out well and we’ll happily accept our flowers. Today I want to take it back a bit to the Lockdown season, remember how a certain Laycon was painted as the most intelligent human alive, and everyone ran with it? While this article is not to shade the BBN Season 5 winner, it’s basically my attempt at teaching us what worked then and what you can learn from it. First and foremost, I must give it to Scarlett and the rest of the team that worked on Laycon, omo! These people legit sold snow to our Eskimos. They made us believ...

Tinubu's comic relief... These people don't rate us

Image
What was Tinubu's comic relief for? Was that really needed? (Photo credit: Sahara Reporter) Err, I was going to write about Laycon of Big Brother Naija season 5 (Lockdown season) today before but before it becomes stale, let me ask followers of Bola Ahmed Tinubu why their team released the ill-advised video of their Cristiano Ronaldo on a fitness bike for the world to shey yeye him? Is it ment? What is the need to mislead the general public on a video that you don’t need forensic tests to know it’s almost as old as their candidate? Was that done to show Nigerians their candidate is fit? Why not look for something else to sell? He is not fit, forget that feature, can you come up with something else? Who do us like this sef? Just yesterday, I was complaining about the rate at which many of our top brains are leaving the shores of Nigeria and we can’t do jack about it; isn’t it obvious that we can’t get a solution at the next election? Which of the three can actually deliver sol...

Another big week ahead...

Image
It's a big week for me, I'll enjoy every moment of it and come out unscathed. Let's do it! (Photo credit: Sonia's status) The girls have moved on to greater things and life must continue for the rest of us. Back on the grind and straight up to work; no retreat, no surrender! It’s not a long post, it’s basically me telling you what my new week will look like. Last week was a crazy one by all standards but it ended with pats and knuckle-choppings; we’re not there yet tho, we go again this week and the pressure level is likely to be same but no repeat of what happened on Wednesday I promise. It's a big week actually; Big Brother Naija should finally give us peace this week and I can hear Deepsea and Innocent screaming amen! I can't wait to stop seeing Moji's request in that regard. I need to rush this post now, I really want to sleep.  I haven’t done anything of note on script writing front for a while now, no excuses really; I will banish that spirit of ...

Big Brother Naija Season 7 and baseless criticisms

Image
The 2022 Big Brother Naija has been heavily criticized but numbers disagree with perceptions. (Photo credit: DSTV Nigeria) I’ve heard and read so much about the ongoing Big Brother Naija and most people that have criticized the followership have been doing that out of ignorance because I have raw data that reveals that this edition is the most followed in the history of reality TV show in Africa… E shock you? I can understand if you tell me you’re not familiar with the twists and turns, the dual rooms and what the designs look like. I can understand if you’re not cool with the housemates – many of them are silly trust me but you can’t take away the followership that is evident in numbers. As at the time of penning this, I don’t have the permission to share the data I have but once it’s in the public space I will. You might want to consider the fact that the number of times the show is talked about on all platforms count as well, nature of comment however doesn’t matter. Fac...

These security guards messed up my day

Image
These guys need training. That's what I will say. (Photo credit: Whatever mehn) It’s an emotional day, Latifah Baba-Ahmed is leaving my team and I don’t know how to feel. I’m supposed to eulogize her with a befitting post and this won’t cut it so I’ll leave it till I have a grip but send hugs my way… I’m hurting and I can only wish her all of God’s blessings. I just got back from a presentation with respect to the ongoing Big Brother Naija and it was an exhaustive one, coming back to the office to meet my colleagues holding a sort of send-forth party for my little pea is another point of emotional call. Security guards already messed up my day, they don’t know when to use discretions and when to use brute-force. I understand you’ll tell me they’re doing their job and it’s okay. So let me just share a bit of what happened to put it into context. So when we went in through the security gate, we had our laptops in the bag and not in the trunk of the car and when we were leavin...

Morire is 7 and a few more random thoughts...

Image
My baby is 7... Happy birthday sweet soul. (Photo credit: Maxi Gold - My big brother)   So Beauty was disqualified from the Big Brother Naija house yesterday and I celebrated it, you won’t understand why but she should never have been there in the first place. I digress. Oh, I got lots of props for yesterday’s article LOL, I was seen as a Christian brother and many of you dropped comments but when I evoke my inner shedibalabala vibes I hope I’ll still be your friend, because I am not about to lose myself to your expectations. Today is random day, you too see; so, I have a new physiotherapist and I’m enjoying him, the days of female physiotherapists are over. Wait, Omotoyosi was supposed to be the new therapist but omo, let’s leave that part, it’s hard hiring married women shey? I got my new routine from my new therapist today and I was already drafting sack letter because… dude legit wants me to have therapy sessions four times a week LOL, uncle I’m not doing! I apprec...

Most celebrities don't care about you

Image
I purposely picked this image so you don't think I'm talking about any celebrity in particular. Rest in Jesus name. (Photo credit: Google) I’m close to quite a few of them on personal grounds and some on professional grounds and my stand is the same across board, Nigerian celebrity don’t really care about their fans and that explains why it’s hard to understand some silly stan culture. I know this post will give birth to reactions and you might think I’m talking about a particular person but I’m responsible for what I say while you’re responsible for your interpretation of what I say, let’s leave it at that… Okay? Good! I remember a follower reached out to me sometime ago on Twitter, asking for help; she said she was hungry and hadn’t eaten for two days, I didn’t think about it twice despite knowing many of them lie and make it a day time job to scam online, I sent her my 2cents and moved on. Just the next day, I saw same handle asking fans of Tasha of Big Brother Naija...

Big Brother Naija day 1... Let's level up

Image
The Big Brother show is upon us and we're up and running, I'll be giving updates until the end of the season... Are you pumped? (Photo credit: desire) Big Brother Naija is the biggest entertainment show in Africa, I know I said that two days ago and I’m not sorry to say it again; I understand there are certain people that don’t see the value in it, this post isn’t for them and I’d love to give an analogy. I remember how some people reacted to Baba Adeboye’s teaching on marriage not too long ago; Baba advised men not to marry women that cannot cook and women to never go near men that cannot provide for the home, Nigerian twitter felt like the Middle East that day. Do I completely align with Babe’s teaching? It’s debatable but the caveat that most people ignored in that context was the fact that Baba Adeboye was very clear on who he was talking to: his children – people that follow him and his teachings as their spiritual father… He wasn’t talking to Aunty Amaka that wants to c...

BBN 2022: Don't sleep on the fame

Image
Don't sleep on the fame. Enjoy the show and go about your business without fuss, it's not so deep. (Photo credit: My email) Big Brother Naija 2022 kicks off tomorrow and I’m having mixed feelings. It is the season we’ll have hypocrites jumping out of their shell to say nonsense about number of BBN votes vs number of election votes; Why do I find this crap funny? Oh, why mixed emotions? Err… Not sure I can explain in details but I’d love to prove a lot of people wrong with our ideas on the show and also see how people enjoy the content that came from us; also, I’d like to see how the housemates deliver on the tasks… I desperately can’t wait. I wanted to wait till the show begins before writing about it but I’ll be penning lots of thoughts about it throughout the season anyways, why then can’t I start today? I have a few twists I’m looking forward to but today’s post is not about being a spoiler. Big Brother Naija is no doubt the biggest entertainment show in Africa, well...

Acts Reality TV Show... Alternative content for you to consider

Image
The Acts Reality show is a Christian-themed show coming from the stables of Acts Multimedia Studios, you should register to participate if e sure for you... (Photo credit: Naija's Dream) I’ll be working on the next Big Brother Nigeria as a content creator, for housemates’ tasks and games, I’m excited about that but that isn’t exactly what today’s post is all about. Speaking of BBN, each time some conservatives get the opportunity to address the Big Brother Nigeria show, or any reality TV show that involves some level of nudity, offensive language, or anything at all they don’t agree with, you see some disgust in their comments and they stop at nothing to wash down the contents. Individual differences should be respected at all levels, objectivity doesn’t fly out the window when you don’t fancy something, and it’s not for you, that’s not a problem, why don’t you just go for content that aligns with your faith? Here’s one and I hope you’ll jump at it. My friends at Acts Multi...
