Welcome to April, it is the 91st day of my 365 days journey and at the time I started, I didn’t think I’d be faithful with this project to date. Three months and counting, I’m proud of myself and I can only take this in my stride and let it propel me to continue.
Today I’m
taking stocks, I’ll touch base with my friend Ibee, yesterday was his birthday
and I’d planned to celebrate him on this blog but I had to share a piece of
precious information and the two couldn’t coexist, hence the shift to today… Belated
birthday wishes to you Ibee of the bloody-ass Leftist kingdom.
It’s been a
rollercoaster year for lots of reasons and I can’t even complain. Normal is
boring, right? There’s beauty in occasional chaos sometimes but when the rain
turns into a hurricane, it might be time to press the panic button, I live in
Nigeria and you have an idea of how things are here… I digress.
Work has been
interesting, frustrating, and exhilarating at the same damn time. I’m in a line
of profession where nothing stays the same, where your thinking of yesterday
wouldn’t make it past the moment and you have to go again, that’s why I love it
by the way…
Health has
been dramatic but I live above it. The eye surgery episode is well and truly
behind me now and we’re on to the next challenge; sleep issues have been wavy,
Gbemi’s concoctions have been doing magic but I ran out of it already, I
probably have to find another way around that now.
There’s a big
announcement coming up, nope… I’m not getting married, wait for it. No one is
asking how I’ve been coping with the incessant power problems, well it rains
everywhere so let’s all deal with it the best way we can, and after all, we’re
all our own Power ministers.
I met Ibee in
2013, of course in an Arsenal group. It was a buzzing WhatsApp group but it
soon became dramatic. They started dating each other and football-related topics
soon got toxic, and in no time, we both found ourselves in the famous Naija
Pundits group.
We’re both in
another Arsenal group, we’re on opposite sides because he belongs to the
Leftist team – Made of old people and confused youngies who just want Mikel
Arteta sacked, I’m on the Right, they refer to us as “Artesunates” because we’re
pro-Arteta, Dekunle calls us Merry Men, that will always be funny to me.
Ibee is a
strong man, a very honest guy, and one I hope and pray finds fulfillment in all
he does. He’s an incurable gamer, he was the one that made me discover
Battlefield 4 but I dumped that life long ago since one guy refused to give me
life out of beef.
Ibee has been
struggling with health issues for a while, he’s nearing the end of that now and
I can only congratulate him in advance, I’ve had my fair share of something
similar and I know how crazy it must be, relax guy… You’ve come this far and I
am cock-sure you’re fighting to win.
You must have
heard me saying things about my fears for childbirth and pregnant women, Ibee
compounded my fear in that regard, and here’s how:
The day Nengi
(his wife) was going to have Feyi (his daughter), we were chit-chatting over a
live football match and Ibee’s takes were just off, he was saying pure nonsense
and I was tackling him hard, I didn’t know he was fighting fears and anxieties…
His wife was in the labor room.
Talking about
it a few days later made me nail the coffin on any possibility of me being in
the labor room with my wife whenever that time comes, no I won’t, I can’t and
it’s not cos I’m not caring, but you wouldn’t want my child to come and then
dad is dead, I’d certainly pass out before the baby comes out.
I starred lots
of posts Ibee and his fellow naysayers dropped in the group against my manager
(Arteta) and the team, they will be useful when we eventually make the top 4
and y’all won’t hear the end of it, in the end, we all want success for our
dear team, and everyone is just apprehensive for the fear of failure, although
one or two folks in there can’t convince me that they’re Arsenal fans.

So something actually scares u
