BJ's trip and the tale of the sick, the thief and the confused

The best brains are leaving the country and you can't blame them, even the next election doesn't offer much hope. (Photo credit: Ramsey's iPhone)

As I pen this, my kid brother is in flight to no man’s land and he’s not the only one. We are now reduced to phone calls, DMs and emails – that is what we get for being Nigerians, it is what it is…

I am worried for Nigeria. The best brains are leaving and we can’t do anything about it; there’s no help in sight with the sick, the thief and the confused squaring up at the next elections. Lol, I just got a message from another friend that has now relocated to Canada… Con be like say na only me remain LOL.

Everyone is shouting, “get your PVC and vote”, social media influencers (those that are not or not yet on the payroll of the big two) are screaming “get your PVC and vote” and in my heart of heart I am asking: for who? For the sick? The thief or the confused?

I have tagged Tinubu the sick and that is self-explanatory. Just to be fair, I have nothing against a sick man exercising his rights; but I was in this country when people told us not to trust a sick Buhari, I am currently suffering the effect of that, aren’t you?

I tagged Atiku a thief and that isn’t because he’s an armed robber. I sound like a judge already and that is fine, my future is at stake and I will not leave it in the hands of another man to decide. While I am 100% in support of anyone that feels qualified to run (and Atiku very well falls within that group of qualified individuals), I do not think he has the integrity that the office of the presidency requires at this time.

I am not basing my judgment on Obasanjo’s book alone; while I know the words of your former bosses count for something – reason every organization will run a check with your former employers to be sure, I also know people can give feedback based on emotions.

Atiku has been trying to be president of Nigeria since 1993, he contested the NRC primaries and lost to (or stepped down for) Bashir Tofa, he was running mate to Obasanjo for eight years and has contested three of the four elections we’ve had since he left office as Vice President, losing to Musa Yar’Adua in 2007, Buhari in APC primaries of 2015, and Buhari in 2019.

Buhari did this same resilience nonsense and we all fell for it, thinking he was the messiah and had something to offer. He carried us handicap and you want me to fall for that again? It is only Greed that will make a man continue to push for an office people have repeatedly denied you of their votes, I hope this man is delivered from the spirit of OC Ukeje soon #Brotherhood.

For Peter Obi, I wrote about my joy of the rally that was held for him yesterday but have you heard Peter Obi speak? Remove sentiments and emotions; remove the hunger to break free from this evil regime of Buhari and listen like someone that went to school, you will feel the emptiness in his balderdash.

Get your PVC, and vote for who? I know I’m emotional, I will miss my brother and I can only hope he’s fine where he is. He will get to read this when he lands after his three-way trip. See you soon BJ and all the best in no man’s land.
