Reckless road escorts should be canceled

It’s a quiet weekend for me after a very long but eventful night. It never ends with maximum energy when you put up with Deroju, Peter and Andrea but I’m back home in one piece.
One Saturday I don’t really have
to work, a rarity and I’ll enjoy it to the fullest. Rest is the only thing on
the agenda, eat as much as I can (as long as there’s someone to help) and spend
the rest of it watching football and movies ahead of a busy week.
If you missed the KingMakers’
hangout yesterday, you’ll have another opportunity soon with World Cup watch
parties coming up; there’s a level of apprehension with respect to the barrage
of events I’ll get to attend in the coming weeks, let me enjoy my rest.
I witnessed an accident on my way
to the final destination last night and it was a clear case of recklessness and
sheer irresponsibility from people who feel entitled to the road that belongs
to everyone and not just their fathers alone.
These people that hire private
escorts and then constitute nuisance on the road especially when there’s little
traffic. The Hilux that had the escorts was meandering recklessly in the bid to
beat traffic without any respect for other road users but the driver in the
main car didn’t get the memo.
People are obviously tired of
pampering these entitled lots so, no one was making way for the main car
behind; it became awkward, the Hilux was far away from the car it was escorting
and trust them to try to bully others to wait for the car behind to catch up,
the “danfo” boys weren’t having it.
One of the mopols came down to attempt
stopping cars to allow the main car to catch up but he was brutally brushed by
a yellow bus, that led to collisions as one sharp stoppage by a car led to different
sounds of crashes, it wasn’t pretty to see.
Something has to be done to those
idiots honking like fools and harassing other road users simply because they’re
escorting another idiot; sad thing is, the same people we’re depending on to
pass a law against the recklessness are the culprits of the offense. We move.
