Birthdays can really deceive if one isn’t careful. The amount of wishes I’ve received today could light up a city and while I’m not taking any of the thoughtful messages for granted, I’m also sane enough to ensure none goes into my head.

some of these wishes came from people who haven’t said a word to me this year, many I didn’t even think still had my digits and in all, I’m grateful and really wish I could do more to express how much I appreciate every single message across all platforms.

Right, it’s my birthday and it’s one to reflect on the last year while projecting into the future. As at this time last year, I didn’t think I wouldn’t be married by now LOL and I’m sure that would confuse a few people but if “it is what it is” doesn’t answer you, let “we move” do.

It’s time to get a grip, I’m going to Lagos Business School for executive MBA. I have been laid back on this for a while and it’s time for me to take the bold step. I have reasons to want more from life and this is one direction I must never stall on again.

My conversations with Ayan over the King’s Horseman may have motivated me to take script writing seriously again; took a break for a little while because I felt under appreciated but I guess I was in the wrong bubble and if my dream of winning AMVCA next year as a storyteller would see the light of the day, I need to manage my time better.

I will cut down on alcohol by 50%. I hope Latifah and Ese don’t get to read this post; those ladies gaslight me with liver stories and you need to see them while they’re at it. Ese will do the talking while her witch partner would just stare like those big aunties but you’’ get the message.

I’m going to be a lot adventurous this new year, maybe not travel round due to several reasons but I’d be signing up for premium enjoyments and things that my heart desires. I will be intentional about myself without looking at the price tag, I will indulge myself to the fullest.

I’ve been a little bit detached from physical church services; I will address that. Enough of the Covid excuses, Jesus didn’t die for me to be this lukewarm. I have never missed a single day of NLP since I discovered it except during Salah break that I didn’t know it held but then, physical church service must be taken seriously again.

I have a few bridges I hope to mend this new year, relevant ones at that and I’ll also try to be less annoying, I’ll pay more attention to my ankles and hope whatever my spine chose to do in the last few days never happen again in the new year that starts today.

Thank you again for the birthday wishes and I know many of you are expecting me to end this with relationship or marriage talks, I’m happy to disappoint you. I appreciate all the warm messages and yes, we turn up tomorrow with #TeamRiqqui and then by weekend with the boys. See y’all tomorrow.
