Halfway into the journey...

I'm halfway there and that's because y'all keep encouraging me... Thank you. (Photo credit: Google) |
It’s amazing how people take someone’s opinion to heart and turn it to a springboard for unnecessary arguments. I’m halfway into my 365 days journey of writing something daily and in all, I can only be thankful to everyone that continues to read but no thanks to those that can’t respect personal opinions.
Three people weren’t cool with my take of yesterday on
Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido and incidentally, they’re all Burna Boy fans. They
felt I disrespected their idol with my take and all I can say is “like idol
like followers”… Arrant nonsense.
To be honest I’ve had days I felt like stopping, no one has
a gun to my head to keep writing but it’s heart -warming to see people hit me
up to ask why there’s no new post yet on certain days; I don’t take this for
granted and y’all are the reason I haven’t given up.
It hasn’t been easy. There are days I’d be so busy I’ll only
pen a few lines; there are days I’d be so blank with topics that I’ll just
scribble nonsense and y’all still read. I understand blogger has been moving
mad and people aren’t able to drop comments, I still appreciate them in my DMs.
We’re halfway now and it’s harder to stop. We’ve come this
far, why not just continue? At the start, I didn’t know it would be this
exhausting and I didn’t even think I’d be able to stay consistent, I give myself
the roses and I’m hanging it in my living room.
And to those that always have something to disagree about,
there’s a place for y’all too. Not exactly thanking you but I understand. I
remember how someone nearly punched me because I said Gistlover account should never
be allowed to exist; many didn’t like the fact I said pounded yam is overrated
and in truth, I said what I said.
It’s an appreciation post, to you all and also an encouragement
note to myself. July is here and I’m sure it will bring us the best of good
news. May the second half of the year bring us lots of goals, actuals and not
own-goals. God bless you all and see you tomorrow.
It's been an amazing ride and I honestly look forward to reading from you. You're doing an amazing job 😍😍.
