My heart bleeds for Ukraine

Today is emotional, okay I’m beginning to sound like Vader the Wildcard but I actually like the guy and you’ll see something about him on my blog soon.
I wrote about
Russia recently and my understanding of why Vladmir Putin is doing what he’s
doing, I was quick to reiterate the fact that I don’t want war, I was very
clear on my stand but as it stands, I am worried for Ukraine and the world at
large.
President
Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a very emotional speech earlier today, trying to sound
brave but fear was written all over him, he remains adamant that the West aren’t
doing enough to help but the trajectory is scary and now I’m worried.
Putin is a
war criminal; I admit that 100% but the West gave him enough reasons to be like
that. Putin has trust issues and won’t even sit or stand close to anyone, not
his cabinet members and not even his family members, he doesn’t trust anyone.
We have
talked about the fact that he doesn’t want anything to threaten his country or
his people, Putin doesn’t want NATO base around Russia borders but there’s more
to the fight than that, is it too late to retreat and allow for dialogue?
Shells and deafening
blasts have been heard very close to the government house in Kyiv, this means
the war has been taken to the doorsteps of the Ukrainians, people are fleeing
and bloodshed is inevitable, we know the beginning, who knows the end?
To be very
honest, standing with Putin or Russia has expired, I was very vocal about being
on the side of Russia earlier on because I thought Putin just wanted to send deterrence
to the rest of the world, this is becoming an assault on innocent people, more
of ego than anything else, I dissociate myself from that.
Forget what
you see on CNN, people are dying in Ukraine. People’s children have been trapped,
killed or injured and I’m talking about Africans, Nigerians especially
students, it now looks like Russian armies are targeting civilians, omo!
Putin is
desperately looking for an opportunity to test or use his nuclear weapons, all
he’s waiting for is the interference of the West and he’ll unleash terror. You’re
asking what exactly I was supporting before? Well, it’s the fact that NATO
shouldn’t have a base near Russia and that’s all.
Now I’m
wondering, if this was Nigeria, how will someone like me cope? How will I run
for my life? I’ve had something close to this in the past and maybe I should
talk about it but it’s absolutely different from a war of this magnitude.
I was in LASU
in 2005 when Jide Jamal, the famous cult warlord was killed right before his
mother, bullets flew right left and center and everyone was to keep running, if
you hear the sound then it’s not meant for you, that day I knew I could run but
I never wanna experience it again.
I am bleeding
inside for Ukraine. I feel Zelenskyy was stupid to mismanage his confidence,
crying that the West aren’t doing enough is weak, I know he can’t surrender but
he could have avoided this war in the first place and this is not me blaming
the victim.
I am close to
tears, I am worried for the lives that are being lost, I need a hug and… See y’all
tomorrow.
If u say Putin is a war criminal then u are a hypocrite and there's no two way to put it. "EU and NATO" has made
ReplyDelete14,500 dead in Libya
165,000 dead in Afghanistan
224,000 dead in Syria
1,200,000 dead in Iraq
It didn't shock anyone.
None of these countries has been sanctioned.
Ukranians better wake because westerners are only using them.
We're on the same page on this, if you read the first post I made about the crisis you'd understand. That said, killing civilians isn't a way to make your point, and we both know this is beyond Ukraine, Putin is targeting the US and NATO
DeleteI feel terrible for them too. Sad stuffs but the west? No words for them
